Schedule editor (Gantt)
The working area opens a live Gantt chart from BeOnTime — a plan editor fully compatible with MS Project: you open and edit your MS Project plan right next to the chat — together with the agent and under your own control.
The agent can find projects and schedules, open them, read the state of work, and make changes: durations, dependencies, date constraints, and resources.
What the agent can do
- Find and open. On your request, the agent lists the available projects and schedules and opens the one you need in the working area.
- Read. The agent gets a current slice of the plan — tasks, durations, dependencies, constraints, resource assignments — and answers questions about the schedule with links to the data.
- Change. The agent edits the plan: changes durations and dates, adds tasks, sets dependencies, assigns and reassigns resources, and maintains the schedule's resource catalog.
- Show. A PNG snapshot of the chart can be placed in chat or in documents — it is a view of the plan, not a replacement for the data.
How the review works: "apply first, then verify"
Schedules are the one surface where the review mechanics differ from the others. Here the agent applies its edits to the live chart immediately, and you review the already-applied changes:
- The agent's edit appears on the chart right away — recalculated bars and dependencies.
- Each edit is marked with a review mark (a tick/cross on the task row or resource row):
- Accept — the edit is locked in as yours;
- Reject — the value returns to its state before the edit (for an added task, the task is removed);
- Accept/reject all — a batch decision for all open marks.
- While marks are open, you keep working with the chart as usual: your own edits are never restricted.
- Marks live with the plan: if you close the working area, they are saved and wait for your decision.
This mechanic was chosen deliberately: a schedule is a fast-recalculating model, and "propose without applying" would make reviewing edits uninformative (you would not see how a change affects the finish date). You see the real effect of the edit and then decide whether to keep or revert it.
Data and collaboration
- The document of record is your organization's schedule database: everything that is applied and accepted lives in the same place where you manage schedules in BeOnTime.
- Schedules can be shared with colleagues in the organization — access controls determine which schedules each user sees.
- Work runs in your account: the agent acts with the same permissions you have and cannot bypass organizational limits.
When to use it
- Rebuilding the schedule after a change in deadlines or scope.
- Assigning resources and checking their load across the plan.
- Preparing for a status meeting: the agent builds a draft recalculation, you approve it on the chart.
- Day-to-day plan upkeep: moving tasks, closing finished work, refreshing dependencies.
